Staff Accountant/Contracts Administrator
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Accounting responsibilities: managing the company's accounts payable process, vendor files, petty cash fund, preparing journal entries, reconciling subledger accounts; assisting with the monthly closes, management of the company's payroll administration and employee benefits programs.
•Contract administrator responsibilities: assisting with the development, population and maintenance of the contract management database; preparing basic contracts from template agreements; assisting with the flow of contracts-in-progress; managing and maintaining legal files; assisting with financings and other shareholder matters.

•Be a mature, experienced professional with strong references and an impeccable record of honesty.
•Be a self-starter, detail-oriented, have excellent interpersonal skills and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
•Have the ability to multi-task and work on various projects and assignments.
•Have the ability to step back and see the big picture on accounting and other corporate related issues.
•Have good written and verbal communication skills coupled with the ability to comfortably communicate with senior management.
•Be comfortable in taking direction from senior management and be able to juggle multiple competing demands on his/her time.
The successful candidate will possess specific knowledge in many of the areas below:
FINANCIAL/ACCOUNTING EXPERIENCE:
•Knowledge of current accounting policies and procedures.
•Knowledgeable in working with a general ledger system, including chart of accounts.
•Knowledgeable in managing an accounts payable system, vendor payments and discounts.
•Ability to prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations.
•Ability to effectively use financial applications related to accounting, accounts payable, payroll and capital expenditures.
WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
•Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent.
•2-3 years of experience in managing company's books and records; experience with an accounting firm is a plus.
•Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, QuickBooks, and database applications.
